Frankfurt Airport is ready for the Airbus A380
Frankfurt is one of the world's first airports on which the A380 has started regular operation. Ten contact stands and five remote stands are already available for the megaliner. A further four A380 gates will be added when the ongoing construction of Pier A-Plus is finished. Creation of one of the largest industrial halls in Germany, the "Lufthansa Technik" A380 Hall, started in late 2007 for maintenance, and the first construction phase has already been completed.
Numerous tests carried out in advance have shown that FRA is ready. Since June 11, 2010 Lufthansa has been starting regular scheduled flights from FRA. The first destinations are Tokyo, Peking and Johannesburg.
