Dr. Matthias Zieschang is Fraport's Executive Board Member responsible for controlling and finance.
He is responsible for various organizational units including: the Controlling, Finance, Accounting central division, the Global Investments and Management central division, the Central Purchasing, Construction Contracts central division, the Information and Telecommunication service division, and the Investor Relations staff department.
From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Zieschang was Executive Board Member for finance and controlling at Deutsche Bahn Netz AG.
After graduating from university in national economics and business administration, Zieschang started his career as an assistant lecturer at the Technical University of Darmstadt, specializing in macro-economics (economic theory), where he earned his doctorate.
Dr. Zieschang later worked as a specialist for capital market financing at BASF AG. In 1994, he joined Deutsche Bahn AG, where he served as the department head of financial strategy and planning. In 1997 he took over the project and investment financing department - also in the position of department head - and concurrently served in the position of managing director of Deutsche Bahn Projekt Finanzierungs GmbH. Dr. Zieschang held the executive board position for finance, controlling and information technology (IT) at Scandlines AG, one of the largest shipping lines in the Baltic Sea region.
