In July 2007, Fraport adhered to the Global Compact of the United Nations. The Global Compact consists of ten universally recognized principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption, the objective being a world economy oriented towards the principle of sustainability.
All of this is a strong incentive to implement sustainability on an increasingly consistent basis, in constructive and critical dialogue with our stakeholders.
What we have achieved so far is simultaneously an honour and a duty: it represents an obligation to persist in our efforts to achieve corporate management policies based on sustainable values, both now and in the future. Our membership in this worldwide network - created under the auspices of then U.N. General Secretary Kofi Anan in 1999, with a worldwide membership of approximately 4,000 companies and organizations today – reinforces our social commitment to the recognition and promotion of human rights and the environment. At Fraport AG, we consider ourselves bound by the principles of the Global Compact, and therefore wish to contribute to a more sustainable and fairer world economy.
Our membership is intended to support a number of basic values in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. For more information on the ten principles of the Global Compact, click here.
