N*ICE Aircraft Services & Support GmbH was started up in July 1999 as a joint venture of Fraport AG (52%) and Servisair SAS (48%).

Thanks to the implementation of innovative methods and continuous improvements, aircraft de-icing at Frankfurt Airport has made so much headway in recent years that it is no longer a critical factor in aircraft handling. Some of our fleet of specialized vehicles can be deployed to deicing assignments at parking positions (at terminals or in the apron area) or at so-called "remote de-icing pads" (near the runways). The remaining vehicles are used to de-ice aircraft at their positions only.

The training of de-icing squads is writ large at N*ICE. Every year, in addition to personnel training at FRA, specially prepared trainers give courses in aircraft de-icing to personnel at about 15 different airports around the world. N*ICE Aircraft Services & Support GmbH is certified, together with Fraport, as ISO9001:2000 compliant.
