At December 31, 2006, Fraport AG had a total workforce of 12,735. Employment at Fraport dropped by 95 compared to the previous year.
Our company's activities have a much wider effect on the labor market, however. Frankfurt Airport, which we operate, currently provides 68,000 jobs and is thus Germany's largest workplace.

A total of 984 external hirings were made in 2006 (versus 975 in 2005); during the same period 1,079 employees left Fraport AG (versus 1,045 in 2005).
At the end of the year there were a total of 2,412 female employees, which represents a share of 18.9 percent of the total workforce.

There has been a steady increase over recent years in the numbers of part-time workers. At the end of 2006 there were 1,697 part-time employees, representing 13.3 percent of the workforce.
The number of foreign nationals in the workforce has decreased in absolute terms. At the end of the year there were 2,122 foreigners on the payroll, or 16.7 percent (previous year 16.6 percent). Turkish nationals comprise by far the largest group, with 1,226 (9.6 percent of the workforce), followed by Italians (161 persons, 1.3 percent), Spaniards (101 persons, 0.8 percent) and Greeks (96 persons, 0.8 percent).
In the reporting year, the number of severely handicapped employees again clearly exceeded the legal quota of 5 percent. At year end, handciapped employees accounted for 7.8 percent of the total staff (versus 7.1 percent in the previous year).
