In 2002, Fraport first signed on as a sponsor of the "Jugend forscht" Young Researchers' program. Initially only a substitute sponsor, Fraport has been a regular host of the Young Researchers' Hesse regional contest since 2004.

In 2008 Frankfurt Airport again was the venue of central Hesse's regional contest of  "Jugend Forscht" (German national science fair). A total of 69 young scientists participated in the fair, submitting 37 projects in the disciplines physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, working environment, earth science, space science, and technology to a 16-person scientific jury on February 15, 2008.
