audit berufundfamilie is a strategic management instrument that supports employers in establishing a sustainable, economically attractive balance between their corporate aims and employee interests. It is recommended by the leading German trade associations BDA, BDI, DIHK and ZDH and is sponsored by the German Federal Minister for Family Affairs and the German Federal Minister of Economics.
berufundfamilie gGmbH has been offering the audit since 1999, during which time it has already evolved into a stamp of quality for family consciousness in German industry. The audit shows: Human resources policies that consciously take family issues into account are economical because they save more than they cost.
Whether in large and small enterprises, manufacturing companies and service providers, public institutions or non-profit organizations: the audit makes it possible to develop tailor-made, practical solutions from which management and employees profit in equal measure.
Fraport's staffing policy, oriented on equal opportunitie, was already three times awarded the Total E-Quality title by Total E-Quality Deutschland e. With 88 enterprises, Top Arbeitgeber Deutschland 2008 ("Germany's Top Employer 2008") scrutinizes more companies than in the previous year and thus represents an even larger cross-section of German enterprises across all industries. These include not only famous major corporations but also innovative medium-sized enterprises that offer an attractive work environment for their employees. This makes the study a valuable source of information for graduates, young professionals or career changers.
The companies were assessed by the independent research company CRF and the magazine Junge Karriere, which is published by the publishing company Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt. In the process, every company was evaluated in the areas Market Leader, Remuneration, Development, Job Security, Cuddle Factor and Work/Life Balance via a differentiated point system according to which the overall winner was determined. A team of independent business journalists conducted additional onsite background interviews. This resulted in far-reaching insights into the human resources management strategies, employment systems and performance requirements of the companies.
