Theme: "Innovation in Airfreight for Safety, Reliability and Speed" FRA/rap> Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide is hosting its 13th biennial Frankfurt Airfreight Days conference at the Sheraton Hotel Frankfurt Airport from October 9 to 10. An established tradition in the European and international cargo industry, this years Frankurt Air Freight Days will focus on the theme Innovation in Airfreight for Safety, Reliability and Speed. Fraport is presenting the two-day event in cooperation with Deutsche Verkehrs-Verlag GmbH. Some 200 decision-makers - representing airlines, forwarders, integrators, logistics specialists, shippers and airports - from Europe and other parts of the world are expected to participate in this premier industry event. The conference opens on October 9 at 18:00 with a welcome address from Dr. Wilhelm Bender, executive board chairman of Fraport AG. Dr. Herbert Hirschler, state secretary for the Hesse Ministry of Economics, Transport and State Development will present a keynote speech focusing on the advantages of the "Frankfurt Cargo Hub". Then, Dr. Klaus-Ulrich Kersten, president of the German Federal Office of Criminal Investigation (BKA), will examine the important topic of security challenges facing the air cargo industry. On October 10, high-ranking speakers from airlines, forwarders, shippers and airports will address the conference theme from their particular perspective. David Oldridge, CEO of Tradeport Hong Kong Ltd., will be discussing "Third-party Logistics at Airfreight Hubs". A joint venture of Fraport AG, Tradeport Hong Kong is an advanced airfreight logistics center that opened earlier this year at Hong Kong International Airport. Logistics trends in the rapidly developing Chinese market will also be on the conference agenda. Fraport's vice-chairman Prof. Manfred Schölch will explain how Germany's largest airport operator is responding to the new challenges in airfreight.
