FRA/rap> – Dr. Stefan Schulte, Fraport AG's executive board vice chairman, has been elected to the board of ACI Europe (Airports Council International, European Region) at the organization's recent annual assembly in Zurich. A company spokesperson in Frankfurt confirmed the appointment.
The Brussels-based industry association represents the interests of some 400 airports in Europe, accounting for more than 90 percent of the Continent's commercial air traffic. ACI Europe promotes knowledge transfer within the European air transport industry and represents the interests of airports vis-à-vis political and aviation institutions in Europe. Member airports serve 1.2 billion passengers and handle 15.8 million metric tons of cargo annually.
Schulte has been a member of Fraport AG's executive board since April 2003. He assumed the vice chairmanship in April of this year and is responsible for airport expansion, construction activities, flight and terminal operations, as well as security.
