Frankfurt Airport and Fraport AG have received numerous national and international awards over recent years.
For us this represents both an incentive and an obligation to extend and optimize our high quality range of services both at Frankfurt and at other airports throughout the world.
2008
- The German Logistics Award 2008 has been awarded to a joint project of Fraport AG and Deutsche Lufthansa. "Both partners are living an exemplary system partnership!". The project called "Integrated Passenger and Baggage Logistics at the Aviation Hub in Frankfurt" has succeeded in optimizing the service and productivity in the baggage and passenger logistics area at Frankfurt Airport. Frankfurt Airport is one of the most important hubs in international air traffic. No other airport worldwide runs a hub operation as intensive as at Frankfurt. Ensuring that all passengers, complete with their bags, catch their onward flight requires a logistics masterpiece behind the scenes. The project culminated in close dovetailing between Fraport and Lufthansa. The optimized communication and logistics channels can make up for delays, improve baggage and passenger flows and thus maximize comfort and reliability.
- Fraport is one of the first groups of companies that have a TÜV certificate in the airport management area. In 2007, TÜV Austria CERT GmbH renewed certification for the Fraport Group's management system until 2010. Fraport considers management systems as tools for achieving corporate goals (value creation, strong performance, sustainability). Evaluating all aspects of quality management, occupational safety and health, environmental protection, and values management, TÜV Austria CERT GmbH has issued the certification attesting that Fraport AG and its group companies are successfully meeting the required standards. Certification according to EN ISO 9001 is a guarantee for the quality of our services as well as for the reliability and customer-orientation of our company.
- A survey by the London-based Skytrax market research company found Peru's Jorge Chavez Intenational Airport in Lima to be the Second Best Airport in South America in 2008. The on-line survey interviews covered 8.2 million passengers worldwide. The survey evaluated passenger satisfaction for 39 aspects of airport service and product factors, including airport accessibility, design, tidiness, baggage handling, security checks, as well as staff friendliness and helpfulness. To ensure Jorge Chavez International Airport will continue to be among the winners of the annual World Airport Awards in the future, the airport will implement further equipment and facility improvements by year end.
- The Minister for the Interior of the State of Hesse, Volker Bouffier, has awarded Fraport AG and its subsidiary Fraport Cargo Services GmbH a police seal of quality. The seal confirms the "excellent security in the area of cargo delivery" of the Fraport Group. The introduction of a new cargo collection procedure will make it practically impossible in the future for organized gangs of thieves to take possession of incoming freight in Frankfurt using forged collection documents.
- At this year's Hanover Fair, Germany's Minister for Industry and Technology, Michael Glos, awarded three Fraport employees an innovation prize. With their project on "Back-up Power Supply with a PEM Fuel Cell and Synchronous-load Reset", they took first place in the "Ecology" category of the "Xplore New Automation Award". With their innovative project, the Fraport employees came in ahead of numerous competitors from Germany and abroad. The innovation prize is awarded every three years and comes under the patronage of the Federal Ministry for Industry and Technology.
- Fraport AG won top honors in the „major company“ category of Germany’s Success Factor Family 2008 corporate competition. Ursula von der Leyen, federal minister for family, senior citizens, women and youth, explained that Fraport received the award because of its „family-oriented personnel strategy“, which is setting standards. A large corporation with such a wide variety of offerings aimed at employees with families is exemplary, the minister said.
- Frankfurt Airport (FRA) was once again named the winner of this year's "ACE Award for Excellence" in the category "Airports Europe - with more than one million metric tons of freight" in a reader poll of the renowned "Air Cargo World" trade magazine. The airports were rated on such criteria as quality of handling service, price-performance ratio, freight-handling infrastructure and facilities as well as efficiency of regulatory authorities at the airport.
