The Executive Board of Fraport AG manages Frankfurt Airport's strategic and operative business and is also responsible for Fraport's national and international subsidiaries.
Dr. Stefan Schulte is Chairman of the Executive Board of Fraport AG. He is the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Fraport Group, which features the business segment External Activities & Services.
Organizational units reporting directly to him include: "Global Investments and Management", "Airport Expansion South", "Corporate Development, Environment and Sustainability" and "Corporate Communications".
Dr. Schulte has served on the Fraport board since 2003. As executive board member for finance (chief financial officer) he was initially responsible for controlling and finance, IT services, and acquisitions and investments. In April 2007, Dr. Schulte was appointed vice-chairman of Fraport's executive board, responsible for the organizational units Traffic and Terminal Management, Airport Expansion; Security, Real Estate and Facility Management; as well as Legal Affairs. Dr. Schulte has been chairman of the executive board since September 2009.
From 2001 to 2003 Dr. Schulte served as director labor relations and chief financial officer on the executive board of Cologne-based Deutz AG, where he was responsible for finance and human resources. A banker by training, Dr. Schulte studied for a doctorate degree and earned his "Dr. rer. pol" from the University of Cologne in 1991. He began his professional career at Deutsche Bank's group development department. From 1996 to 2000 Dr. Schulte initially worked for Mannesmann Arcor in Eschborn near Frankfurt in the position of divisional director. Later he served as a board member for finance (chief financial officer) at Infostrada S.p.A., the Mannesmann/Vodafone group's Italian fixed-network subsidiary based in Milan.
Dr. Schulte is the chair of the audit committee of Airports Council International/ACI World, the global federation of airport operators, as well as a member of the board of ACI Europe, the European trade body for airports. From June 1, 2016, Dr. Stefan Schulte took up the honorary position of President of the German Aviation Association (BDL). He is also a member of the supervisory board of Deutsche Post AG and holds various offices with foundations and associations in the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region and beyond.
Stefan Schulte was born in Wuppertal on April 9, 1960. He is married and has two children.
Anke Giesen has been a member of the Fraport Executive Board since 2013 and serves as Executive Director Operations (COO).
She has board responsibility for the units “Airport Security Management”, "Airside and Terminal Management, Corporate Safety and Security" and “Retail & Properties” as well as for the units “HR Top Executives” and "Legal Affairs and Compliance".
After obtaining a degree in law, she started her career in 1992 in the mechanical and electrical engineering sector, becoming a specialist in human resources and management personnel at Mannesmann Dematic AG. In 2001, she transferred to Pfleiderer AG, an international manufacturer of engineered wood, where she held several management positions. From 2004, she served as the group’s head of human resources and as a member of the management board for Pfleiderer’s Business Center Western Europe.
In 2009, she joined Douglas Holding AG, an international retailing group, as a member of the executive board and the group’s director for labor relations. In that position, she was responsible for the areas of human resources and legal affairs as well as for the group’s insurance management and procurement divisions.
Michael Müller is a Member of the Executive Board of Fraport AG and Executive Director Labor Relations.
He has board responsibility for the Ground Services unit as well as the units “Human Resources”, "Internal Auditing" and “Central Purchasing & Construction Contracts”.
After graduating from university with a degree in Economics, Mr. Müller joined the Frankfurt Airport operating company in 1984. Initially, he worked in a staff function reporting to the company’s executive board member responsible for labor relations. Since 1993, Mr. Müller has worked in a variety of management functions in the Human Resources department and was appointed Senior Vice President for Human Resources in 1997. In 2009, he took charge of Fraport AG’s Ground Services unit.
Since 1999, Mr. Müller has been engaged in Frankfurt Airport’s “Pro Region” foundation, which was set up with the aim of improving the training and employment prospects of local teenagers and young adults. He served as the foundation’s board chairman, prior to becoming chairman of the foundation’s advisory board in October 2012. In January 2017, Mr. Müller again became chairman of the state of Hesse’s Government Committee for Vocational Training. He has also served as a lay judge at the Hesse State Labor Court in Frankfurt since 2007.
Dr. Matthias Zieschang has been a member of the Fraport Executive Board since 2007 and serves as Executive Director Controlling and Finance (CFO).
He is responsible for the following organizational units: “Integrated Facility Management“, “Information and Telecommunications”, "Corporate Infrastructure Management" as well as the units "Controlling", "Finance and Investor Relations" and "Accounting".
From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Zieschang was Executive Board Member for finance and controlling at Deutsche Bahn Netz AG.
After graduating from university in national economics and business administration, Zieschang started his career as an assistant lecturer at the Technical University of Darmstadt, specializing in macro-economics (economic theory), where he earned his doctorate.
Dr. Zieschang later worked as a specialist for capital market financing at BASF AG. In 1994, he joined Deutsche Bahn AG, where he served as the department head of financial strategy and planning. In 1997 he took over the project and investment financing department - also in the position of department head - and concurrently served in the position of managing director of Deutsche Bahn Projekt Finanzierungs GmbH. From 1999 to 2001, Dr. Zieschang held the executive board position for finance, controlling and information technology (IT) at Scandlines AG, one of the largest shipping lines in the Baltic Sea region.
