Fraport AG’s executive board chairman, Dr. Stefan Schulte, struck a positive note at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) today: “We can look back on a very successful 2018. Supported by strong growth in passenger traffic at Frankfurt Airport and our international locations, we achieved a new record high for revenue and earnings.
At Fraport AG’s regular Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, 99.97 percent of the shareholders approved the recommended dividend of €2.00 per share. Thus, the dividend for fiscal year 2018 will increase by 50 euro cents, or by one third compared to the previous year.
Fraport AG has purchased a further 10-percent stake in Lima Airport Partners S.R.L. (LAP) – operator consortium of Jorge Chavez International Airport Lima – from AC Capitales’ Infrastructure Fund, which held the stake for over 10 years.
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) welcomed more than six million passengers in April 2019, a gain of 5.1 percent year-on-year. This noticeable increase can also be attributed to the Easter traffic, which occurred completely in April 2019 due to the later Easter holidays this year (compared to 2018).
The Fraport Group has successfully started off the new business year, achieving higher revenue and earnings in the first three months of 2019.
Today (April 29), Fraport AG laid the cornerstone for Frankfurt Airport’s new Terminal 3, one of Europe’s largest privately financed infrastructure projects. Numerous guests and construction workers attended the ceremony, which marked the start of above-ground construction.
In the first three months of 2019, Frankfurt Airport (FRA) served almost 14.8 million passengers – an increase of 2.5 percent year-on-year. Aircraft movements rose by 3.0 percent to 116,581 takeoffs and landings. Accumulated maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) climbed by 2.9 percent to some 7.3 million metric tons.

With the Easter holidays around the corner, Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is preparing for this year’s first travel peak. Germany’s largest aviation hub expects to welcome up to 215,000 passengers daily – particularly at the start of the Easter school holidays on the weekend from April 12 to 15.
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) continues to strengthen its status as Germany’s leading international aviation hub. Starting on March 31, travelers will be able to fly from Frankfurt to a total of 306 destinations in 98 countries. In this year’s summer season, the number of flights will increase moderately (by more than one percent) compared to last year. Seat capacity will also grow by between one and two percent.
In the 2018 fiscal year (ending December 31), Fraport AG continued on its growth path, achieving new records in revenue and earnings. Supported by strong passenger growth at its Frankfurt Airport home base and its Group airports worldwide, revenue climbed by 18.5 percent to nearly €3.5 billion.
In its meeting today (Thursday, March 14), Fraport AG’s supervisory board appointed Dr. Pierre Dominique Prümm to the company’s executive board, effective July 2019. Prümm will take over board responsibility for Fraport’s “Airside and Terminal Management, Corporate Safety and Security” strategic business unit and the “Corporate Infrastructure Management” service unit.
