Fraport Traffic Figures – November 2025: Passenger Numbers Grow Noticeably at Most Group Airports

Frankfurt Airport serves 4.8 million travelers – Increase of 4.0 percent year-on-year – Total Group passengers up 6.4 percent to 11.0 million

In November 2025, some 4.8 million passengers traveled via Frankfurt Airport (FRA), an increase of 4.0 percent compared to November last year. With the fall school vacations in the neighboring state of Bavaria extending into November, leisure destinations continued to see high demand, particularly Italy (up 16.4 percent), Greece (up 10.9 percent) and Spain (up 5.9 percent). In addition, traditional business destinations also registered high growth rates in November, notably Switzerland (up 13.6 percent), Austria (up 9.4 percent) and France (up 8.0 percent).

Cargo volumes in Frankfurt (comprising airmail and airfreight) increased by 4.7 percent year-on-year to 186,692 metric tons in the reporting month. Likewise, aircraft movements rose by 4.0 percent to 36,237 takeoffs and landings. Accumulated maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) grew by 2.5 percent to approximately 2.3 million metric tons.

Most airports in Fraport’s international portfolio also recorded passenger growth in November 2025. Slovenia’s Ljubljana Airport (LJU) saw passenger traffic increase by 17.5 percent year-on-year to 105,623 travelers. In Brazil, the combined total at the airports of Fortaleza (FOR) and Porto Alegre (POA) reached 1.2 million passengers – up 31.1 percent compared to November 2024. This significant increase reflects a one-off effect from POA’s closure for several months last year due to severe flooding in the region. At Peru’s Lima Airport (LIM), passenger numbers remained virtually stable at about 2.1 million in the reporting month (down 0.2 percent). Total traffic at Fraport’s 14 Greek airports grew by 8.8 percent to 953,054 passengers. In Bulgaria, passenger numbers at the Fraport Twin Star airports of Burgas (BOJ) and Varna (VAR) soared by 38.0 percent to a total of 98,034 passengers. Antalya Airport (AYT) on the Turkish Riviera recorded traffic growth of 3.7 percent, with around 1.8 million passengers in November.

The total number of passengers across all airports actively managed by Fraport rose by 6.4 percent year-on-year to approximately 11.0 million in November 2025.
