The airport operator Fraport must ensure that all airport supplies are subject to security screening before they are transported into the security-restricted areas to prevent prohibited items from entering that are. AIRPORT SUPPLIERS
Essential requirements at a glance
All airport supplies are subject to security screening before they are allowed to be transported into the airport’s security restricted areas. To simplify and accelerate the on-site screening process, all suppliers of airport supplies have the option to apply as a so-called "known supplier of airport supplies" with the airport operator Fraport. The main prerequisite for this special status is the implementation of appropriate security measures for all relevant airport supplies.
With the new EU Regulation 2026/449 in force, hermetically sealed containers may in the future only be transported into the security area of the airport by known suppliers of airport supplies. By the end of 2027, the status of known supplier will be mandatory to continue transporting any such containers into security restricted areas.
