Dietmar Focke to Join Fraport AG’s Executive Board on May 1, 2026

Today, Fraport AG’s Supervisory Board appointed Dietmar Focke to the company’s Executive Board, effective May 1, 2026. The 53-year-old will fill the vacancy resulting from the retirement of Anke Giesen at the end of last year, restoring the Board to its full complement of five members.

As Chief Operating Officer (COO), Focke will assume responsibility for the aviation and ground services divisions. He holds a university degree in engineering and was most recently CEO of Lufthansa Industry Solutions.
Supervisory Board Chair Michael Boddenberg commented: “I’m very pleased that Dietmar Focke is joining the Executive Board. He’s an accomplished manager with outstanding skills and many years of experience in the aviation industry. In view of the highly demanding operations at Frankfurt Airport, he ideally rounds out the team.”

After training as an industrial mechanic and studying engineering, Focke launched his career at Lufthansa Technik AG in 2000. There, he held various management positions in Germany, China, and Hungary, most recently serving as vice president and spokesperson for engine services. In 2022, he joined the executive board of Lufthansa Cargo as its chief operating officer. Subsequently, in 2024, Focke took over as CEO and sole managing director of Lufthansa Industry Solutions – an international IT consulting company with 3,000 employees dedicated to driving digital transformation.

Focke, who currently resides in Hamburg, is married and the father of two children.
