Area of activity

On February 14, 2001, following a competitive international bidding process, the Government of Peru's Ministry of Transportation and Communication awarded a 40-year Concession Contract for the development and operation of Jorge Chávez International Airport (JCIA) to the concession company Lima Airport Partners S.R.L. Considering an additional 10-year extension at the discretion of Lima Airport Partners, the concession is set to run until 2051.

Lima Airport Partners manages the entire airport, with key management functions performed by Fraport under an operation and management agreement. JCIA is the only commercial airport serving the capital Lima, and is the main international gateway to Peru. Over 1,550 weekly services to 22 domestic and 43 international destinations operated by 24 airlines worldwide constitute the extensive service offer, for which Lima Airport Partners offers passengers and airlines infrastructure and comfortable travel experience at high international standards. JCIA was voted "Best Airport in South America" for six consecutive years in the World Airport Passenger survey conducted by Skytrax.

It is the principal hub, among others, for LATAM Perú, which is part of the LATAM group, and Avianca.

JCIA is situated 9.6 km Northwest of Lima, the capital city of Peru and the political and economic heart of Peru. Lima accounts for approximately 60% of the country's GDP and is home to approximately 30% of the country's 31 million inhabitants.
