The Fire Prevention Infrastructure and Control Panel (BIS) section is responsible for maintaining fire extinguishers, approving work that involves fire hazards, and overseeing the control panels for fire prevention systems.
Fire extinguisher maintenance encompasses the following areas:
- Fire extinguishers
- Labeling of Fire Department peripheral devices
- Maintenance, inspection and approval of fire detector positioning plans / fire department routing map
Control panel training for switch masters is provided for the fire protection department.
The fire prevention infrastructure in buildings includes:
- 596 fire alarm panels (in 314 fire alarm systems)
- approx. 55,000 automatic fire detectors in Fraport buildings
- 1,504 main detectors (incl. 188 detectors of the HBG refueling company at aircraft parking positions)
- 11,325 portable fire extinguishers, 934 wheeled fire extinguishers, approx. 1,331 fire extinguisher spray cans
- approx. 272 stationary fire extinguisher systems (sprinklers, CO2, powder, foam)
- approx. 120,000 sprinkler heads
- 2,789 hydrants
- 105 firefighting water supply points
- 83 standpipes
