FIRE TRAINING CENTER

The Fire Training Center (FTC) is an internationally recognized competence center for airport fire safety. It covers the areas of training, fire protection consulting, aircraft recovery and the paramedic school.

The Fire Training Center serves as the training facility for Fraport AG’s company fire department. Eleven full-time specialist trainers provide basic and advanced training to all employees of the Airport Fire Department. They are supported on specific topics by team members from the Airport Fire Department’s fire protection unit.

In addition to promotional exam preparation for fire chiefs (pursuant to the Industrial Firefighter Training and Examination Regulations APVO-Wfw) and vocational training for industrial firefighters, the specialist trainers from the Fire Training Center provide basic and advanced training in the areas of aircraft firefighting, aircraft recovery, tactics and leadership and company fire protection. They also provide national and international consulting on airport fire protection and prevention at airports.
The Fire Training Center has its own state-of-the-art vehicle fleet for training purposes, including two water tank fire trucks, two fire trucks and additional logistics and fire crew transport vehicles.

A modern roll-off container for fire extinguishing training is used in training industrial fire protection assistants.

The integrated paramedic school is responsible for qualifying employees of the Airport Fire Department as paramedics and providing them with advanced training.
